Description: Figure Holding the Sun is one of only a few public pieces created by artist Italo Scanga. An innovative neo-Dadaist, neo-Expressionist and neo-Cubist multimedia artist, Scanga made sculptures of ordinary objects and created prints, glass and ceramic works. This sculpture was created at a time when the artist talked about his work being “very colorful, very joyous, happy work. It was about the good things in life, not about the horrible things.
